Volunteer Requirements

Each family is required to complete volunteer hours for each half of the hockey season. The number of required hours is determined annually by the EAJHA Board.

Families may choose to buy out of this requirement during registration for $500. If the buyout option is not selected at registration, a $300 fee will apply for each half of the season in which the required volunteer hours are not completed.

Volunteer opportunities include:

• Working in the concession stand during Hawks games, high school hockey games, figure skating shows, and open skate sessions.
• Working the admission door during open skate sessions.

Members serving in any of the following volunteer roles are exempt from the volunteer hour requirements:

• Board Member
• Division Director
• Coach
• Team Manager

Volunteer hours are divided into two halves of the season:

• First Half: Start of season to December 31st
• Second Half: January 1st to End of season

The required volunteer hours for the 2026-2027 season will be determined no later than the October 2026 Board meeting and will be updated on this page once approved.

Families with one player:

• First half: 6 Hours
• Second half: 9 Hours

Families with two players:

• First Half: 6+3=9 hours
• Second Half: 9+4.5= 14 hours

Families with three or more players:

• First Half: 6+3+1.5 =11 total
• Second Half: 9+4.5+2.25 = 17 total
